Once you find all the items on a checklist, then you'll receive an unlimited amount of a certain material. These are islands that take gratitude on the IoA to unlock, and each contain two checklists of items to find. It's also a good idea to find all of the materials in the checklists on the Explorer Islands. You'll unlock the majority of trophies for just doing this. The first step is simply to finish the game and get to the credits.
